From a remarkable brand demonstrating excellence in the field of German watchmaking, Damasko’s timepieces are best known for their use of innovative and advanced technologies to achieve seemingly over-built specifications, they’re simply built like a tank. This time, Damasko unveiled their latest DK30 line which boasts a reduced no-date dial design and a groundbreaking new in-house automatic movement. With such a big leap for the brand, Damasko is really spicing things up here.
Damasko DK30 Ocean with Submarine Steel |
Another unique characteristic of the submarine steel has to be the color of the steel. The dark titanium grey color gives the watch a utilitarian, no-nonsense attitude while balancing with its classic case size and sterile-like dial.
Despite not being a dive watch, this phenomenal case of the DK30 Ocean achieves a substantial water resistance rating of 200m. With a tasteful diameter of 39mm, a lug to lug length of 48mm and a case thickness of 9.95mm, the watch rests extremely comfortably on the wrist, especially with its pleasing curved lugs design.
German Precision |
The crown is also equipped with Damasko's patented lubrication cell which ensures smooth action and lubricates the shaft and the gasket.
The main highlight of the DK30 Ocean is undoubtedly its latest introduction of Damasko’s impressive in-house movement. Driven by the in-house Damasko calibre A26-1 German-made automatic movement, the 20-jewel movement features a power reserve of 42 hours and a beat rate of 28,800 beats per hour.
Thin profile with curved lugs for added comfort |
Next to the dial, is the same design language employed on the Dsub1 and DC80. This time, this DK30 Ocean features a beautiful ocean blue dial with a crosshair that is now synonymous with Damasko, with a different plot design. Dropping the date window, the dial of the DK30 Ocean takes a minimal approach which offers a clean and symmetrical layout that is certainly satisfying to see.
SuperLuminova index for night legibility |
With Damasko’s latest implementation of their very own in-house calibre in their DK30 collection, this elevates the brand to even greater heights, further embodying the precision in manufacturing the German is best known for while presenting a complete package with a formidable exterior and a mighty in-house engine.
